Installing WebConnect on Sygnology
- Download the disk image Download.
- Unzip the folder.
- Connect to your Sygnology system.
- Go to Package Center and install/open "Virtual Machine Manager".
- Once Virtual Machine Manager is open, go to Image tab.
- Select Add and choose from compurer to select the unziped file we downloaded before.
- Confirm the upload with Next, Keep in mind the name should not have any special characters or spaces. Edit the name if needed
- Choose the Storage to upload the file.
- The upload will start in this step.
- Once the upload is done will show Healthy as status, wait till the upload is done before continue with the next step.
- Go to Virtual machine.
- Click on Create and choose Import.
- Tick Import from disk images and continue with next.
- Select the Storage unit for the Virtual Machine.
- Set up the Virtual Machine name. Configure CPU and Memory: We recommenced to set up 2 CPUs and 2GB for the memory (this configuration may depend on your Sygnology Hardware). Also change the Video card to VGA.
- Set up the virtual disk, we recommend 32GB or more.
- Continue with Default VM Network and click on Next.
- In this screen we could configure the Keyboard Layout to fit your hardware, we leave the rest of the settings as default.
- Choose the users to grant Virtual machine manage permission.
- Read the Summary and if all is OK tick "Power on the virtual machine after creation".
Your WebConnector is ready for setting up
- After this step the Virtual Machine should start and be ready to configure the Subdomain on https://webconnect.local with a device connected in the same network as the Sygnology system. (Keep in mind you need to wait 10 min to let the system update before set up the license)
Next comes the first setup step
Enter your subdomain name and key and press Configure. During the configuration you will see the following screen:
In the next step the device will configure itself, please wait until the browser redirects you to the login. It can take several minutes.
First log in:
Your admin credentials are
User: admin
Pssword: password
After this step you will be asked for a new password, please set a new secure password for the admin user (keep in mind your user credentials will be stored on your WebConector and we can not reset them if lost, set up a second admin user for backup in case this happens)
This completes the setup and you can make your individual configurations and work with WebConnect.
